Jonathan Kupper to Be Presented as SABC Minister of Worship October 15

At the invitation of our Personnel Committee and the Minister of Worship Search Team, Jonathan N. Kupper (pronounced “Cooper”) will be our guest worship leader on October 15. Jonathan’s life and faith journey began in a northern Southern Baptist Church, a congregation in upstate New York where he came to faith in Christ and began his Christian journey. His educational preparation for music ministry includes a Bachelor of Music degree from New England Conservatory of Music, a Master of Fine Arts from New York University, and a Graduate Diploma in Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television from the University of Southern California. Having served several congregations as music director, he presently serves as the Director of Music and Performing Arts Ministries at the First Methodist Church of Livingston, Texas. Jonathan has a wealth of experience as a choral conductor, composer, and musician. He has led the churches he’s served in large cantata events with orchestra and has directed large-scale musical productions. He has composed music for the television and film industries and is knowledgeable in music technology. He enjoys and is proficient in leading all styles of worship music and has worked with a broad spectrum of choirs, orchestras, bands, and vocal ensembles. Jonathan summarizes his commitment to ministry by saying, “First and foremost, it is my sincere desire to use the talents and abilities that have been given to me to evangelize and minister to God’s children—wherever He may lead.”

Jonathan is married to Adrienne, an educator who is also a trained and accomplished musician. The Kuppers have two children, Emily, age 12, and David, age 9. We look forward to the Kupper family visiting with us the weekend of October 15 and to Jonathan leading our worship through music. At the close of the worship service, the church family will have the opportunity to affirm the Search Team and Personnel Committee’s call to Jonathan to become our Minister of Worship.
