More H.B. Rhame Updates

Updated: Aug 31, 2023

St Andrews Baptist Church Members and HB Rhame Saints Partnership8/21/23

REMEMER: BE THE FIRST SAINT VOLUNTEER!! Your in-person involvement with students at Rhame Elementary requires your completed background security check with Richland School District One. The application is located on their website. Once you complete the application, you will be notified in an email by Raptor of the next step in setting up your District Volunteer Portal. Then Rhame Elementary will receive a list of all Volunteers. Call Sandra Deming if you have questions (843-610-9901). As you receive clearance, Sandra is eagerly awaiting to present many ‘halos’ as Saints Volunteers!

**On September 3rd and 10th in the Atrium you will find a large YELLOW BOX for your Gift Cards. These cards will be used for purchasing some of the classroom supplies. God Bless you for helping Rhame School.

UPDATES:

The Staff greatly appreciate your generosity with the following wish list items:

1. Guidance Counselors need (travel size) sample soaps, small washcloths, and sample deodorants. If you have any of these around your home that you collected from vacations or trips, please share them with Rhame Guidance Counselors as they meet student needs.

UPCOMING:

* September 7 - Rhame Open House - Parents and Families meet the Teachers beginning at 5:00. We have some donated used books and Dr Carter, the Principal has asked if Volunteers could give books to each family as they exit the front door. So we need Volunteers to help with this responsibility and make a contact with the community. What a great way to be a witness for our Lord in a simple act of handing out a book personally to a stranger and giving them a kind positive word of encouragement at the beginning of the school year! That is part of our First Priority at SABC. Contact Sandra to be a Volunteer at Open House.

* Week of Sept 18 – ‘Reading Matters’ starts with assigned weekly Volunteers (3 from SABC)

* October 3 - Fall Literacy Night at Rhame is another night where SABC can get involved with the Teachers and Families. More details are forthcoming.

* November 12 – We welcome Dr. Carter, Rhame Elementary Principal, as our Guest Speaker again this year during morning Worship Service as American Education Week highlights Educators in Schools across America.
